Helpful Humaning Initiative

Every season we organize a Helpful Humaning Initiative (HHI) to come alongside our community & offer support. 

We know humaning is hard, & humaning while hungry is even harder, so we’ve partnered with TRC to feed and nourish folks.

The Renewal Center (TRC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located on Main Street in Old Town Tomball. TRC is focused on demonstrating kinship and unity in the midst of an increasingly divisive culture, they offer a variety of resources to the community.

ReBar Cafe & Juicestillery and Steampunk Juice were established as an extension of the TRC mission, aiming to help support their community efforts. Through TRC’S Pay-It-Forward program and the community’s support, they offer a nutritious meal to anyone in need, regardless of ability to pay. During the pandemic, Michael Mosley & Rachel Toombs noticed other communities coming together to combat food insecurity. In January of 2021, the pair began to petition the wider Tomball area to secure supplies & a space for a community fridge in the area. 

Using the principle of take what you need and leave what you can, Michael & Rachel set about to help combat hunger for people and communities that otherwise slip through the cracks of government assistance. We hope to raise funds to maintain this resource and keep it stocked for an entire year.
